First Post Here...Oh Boy.

Hey, guys! My name is Rae-J or Rae! I'm also known as @anartisicandautisticstararcher on my main. I've decided to make my own separate account for my Rewrite AU of My Hero Academia.

My main inspiration for making this blog is @sapphic-agent's (aka @rewrittenmha) own secondary blog and @my-rewrite-academia's own blog (who was also inspired by my AU).

What were your reasons for doing your rewrite, besides the negative points of canon? I'm just curious.

Initially, I was inspired due to my main blog's 'mha critical' posts. As I started evaluating MHA with a more objective and critical eye, I began noticing more and more areas that needed significant improvement.

It was never about writing a better story than Horikoshi, (though I do want to achieve that), but about writing a satisfying story for myself and mamy other fans who were disappointed by the writing.

I've said as much in a post on my main blog, but the biggest critique I have about MHA is how Horikoshi is really good at setting things up, but falls flat on the execution.

My rewrite will take those set-ups, and I will do my best to execute them properly, with hopefully satisfying results. Or maybe unsatisfying if I intend it to be.

While spite-writing can be good for fics such as vents-fics or bashing-fics, I prefer to go into these kinds of fics with a more open mind. Rather than focusing on being better than MHA or Horikoshi, I focus on writing the story I would enjoy.

I think everything culminated both when the ending came out and it was one of the worst endings I've ever read, and seeing many other rewrite blogs surfacing, such as @rewrittenmha and @anartisicandautisticstararcher's Rewritten Sparks AU. It inspired me to write my own.

Also Me: *gets screwed over by my first college in terms of accommodations, deals with an Art History teacher who allegedly aired out a student's failing grade in Teams despite doing little to help them, gets failing grades so bad that resulted in an attempt to jump into traffic that was stopped when my mom called me, drops out of college up until 2025, loses most of the fic I had planned for FMA Big Bang 2021 after the website I was using went defunct, get a cyst where the sun don't shine that exploded on my way home from visiting family, gets fired from my first job as a result of unfortunate events, has to get surgery for cyst, gets new job catering food for a social media company that has very classist employees, loses my grandpa and grandma a few months apart, couldn't go to my grandpa's funeral due to financial issues, loses my first manager at my second job because of him trying to help me and my coworkers out, second manager and third manager quits because of the higher ups failing to tell them about our contract ending a few months after they were hired, fourth manager being so incompetent that a coworker and I had to step up to do most of the work for him, and gets illegally laid off*

Me: Damn.

IZUKU IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FREAKING GAG CHARACTER!!!

There are many things about this that piss me off. Not that Izuku isn't a pretty boy, idc about that. He's as cute as a button, but I wouldn't call him a "pretty boy." But the AUDACITY to a) call him a gag character when he's literally the protagonist, b) put Bakugou in the same category as Todoroki for looks, c) call Aoyama a gag character and Bakugou a pretty boy. Like, what???

Aoyama is 10x prettier than Bakugou, tyvm. Furthermore, Horikoshi didn't even bother to make Bakugou look pretty. *cough* ugly ass rat *cough*

He should have at the very least switched Bakugou and Aoyama. But seriously, why does Horikoshi hate Izuku?

Fun Fact: Mic is canonically smarter than Aizawa. Aizawa is 3/5 while Mic is 5/5.

I'm sorry, but I don't see how people hear the shit that comes out of Aizawa's mouth and can't tell he's Horikoshi's mouthpiece.

He says that Izuku and Bakugou are the driving force behind 1A and encourage them to be better. And I- WHERE?

The only person Bakugou has ever inspired is Kirishima. If anything, Kirishima and Mina are the ones who inspire anyone else in the so-called BakuSquad.

Even Izuku, for all that I love him, has really only inspired Uraraka, Todoroki, Iida, Mineta, and Aoyama (kind of). Which is way more than Bakugou, but still isn't the "whole class."

The incessant need to push Izuku and Bakugou together throughout the narrative really, really irks me

The narrative and Aizawa (as Hori's favourite mouthpiece) pushing Izuku and Bakugou as the Twin Driving forces of 1A is simply laughable.

Aizawa is meant to be the "smart teacher" (although he really isn't) and this observation only serves to make him look delusional.

In that scene, Bakugou had Kirishima blindly following him and Kaminari following KIRISHIMA - not Bakugou.

Meanwhile, Izuku literally had the rest of the class, and we are meant to see him and Bakugou as equals... pfftt... OK, pull the other one, Hori 🤣😂🤣

Good point, I would say Izuku definitely inspires more of the class than anyone else, and if they aren't inspired by him, they trust him enough to defer to his judgement and be led by him. This is miles better than Bakugou.

Also while Kirishima is inspired by Bakugou's "manliness" he was also inspired by young Izuku's heroism saving Bkg from the sludge villian, if I remember rightly.

TLDR - Ironically, upon close inspection, Hori's (and by extension Aizawa's) attempt at pushing together Izuku and Bakugou here only makes Bakugou look worse since it highlights just how much Bakugou is lacking in comparison to Izuku.

People say that Shinsou could be Aizawa’s nephew because of their similar appearance, but here’s a separate offer.

Shinsou is the child of a distant cousin of Mic, and he has a voice based quirk like almost everyone else in the family.

What's crazier is it took him killing Mindy Kahling's Velma to undo years of his unjust hate.

To be fair, James Gunn admitted that he regretted doing that to the character and apologized for how Scrappy was portrayed in the movie when he found out that there were kids at the time who still liked Scrappy. Creators like James Gunn can admit to their faults.
