I’m logging off all socials for tomorrow, so I just want to say to my fellow Jews:

I hope you are safe. I hope you are hugged. I hope nothing bad reaches you.

Please take care of yourselves. Not only in physical safety, but mentally too. If social media becomes too much, allow yourself to log off. Try to do something you like - I know it may come with a sense of guilt but I’ve found it helps while grieving.

Feel all you need to feel. Cry all you need to cry - and if that means not crying at all, that’s ok, too.

No October 7th will ever be the same for any of us. This is the first anniversary, hopefully the next one will be a little more bearable. עם ישראל חי

It’s maddening to find out that the scholar who first developed the idea that “Zionism is Settler Colonialism”, Fayez Sayegh, was a member of the Syrian Nazi Party during and immediately after the Holocaust, was an active participant in the Red Scare, using it to demonize Israel as a manifestation of a Global Communist Threat™️ through the height of the Cold War (true to his Nazi roots, accusing Israel of Judeo-Bolshevism) before switching to a Colonialism narrative when Post-Colonialism came in vogue in the 60s. And yet, the people I hear parroting the talking points of this anti-Communist, Ultranationalist Fascist-turned-scholar are the people who are constantly talking about how Liberal Progressives aren’t Communist enough and actually enemies because “Liberals will always side with Fascists”. Maddening.

If you’ve ever noticed how the “Zionism = Settler Colonialism” narrative eerily shares the core components of the far right’s Replacement Theory (that there are 1. Jews 2. conspiring to invade a given place and 3. replace the population with Jews), this is why; it’s because the idea that Zionism is Settler Colonialism came from a literal Nazi.

It is very literally Nazi propaganda.

[This makes me sick to the stomach...]

"A senior officer in the Nahal Brigade tied an elderly Gazan man to an explosive belt and forced him to clear booby-trapped houses in the Zeitoun neighbourhood.

For eight hours, the Palestinian in his 80s served as a human shield until soldiers ordered him and his wife to leave the neighbourhood.

A few minutes later, they were both shot dead."

I'm struggling to stomach this. Zionists are psychopathic sadists.

.... The hell? America is crashing down, even more than I expected.

"The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it, too." –President Donald J. Trump pic.twitter.com/aCqLl9Gwwn

Openly advocating for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians with Satan by his side.

It will never happen. They've tried for 76 years.

Palestine will be free and Palestinians will remain on their land.

They all went to far even now. Sick.

Israeli police raided two Educational Bookshops on Sunday in occupied East Jerusalem, confiscating books & arrested the owner. They rampaged through the store using Google Translate, and whatever they didn’t like they confiscated. Books with Palestinian flag on it, they took it. pic.twitter.com/5m4ZIG2ihY

If you read nothing else on my blog at least read this:

Jewish survival is beautiful, and amazing.

I know times right now are absolutely awful, and it can feel like the world is against us. We're seeing the Nazi marches, the targeting of Jewish businesses, harassment of religious Jews, and so much more at a much more severe rate than many of us have seen within our lifetimes.

But we've survived this before.

The most dangerous thing right now is to lose hope. To lose hope of a better future, to lose hope of any future. We have survived the pogroms, the Holocaust, the Inquisition, the many Middle Eastern anti-Jewish genocides and attacks, various expulsions and so much more.

I've reblogged someone else's post saying this before but I'm going to say it here again: every single Jew alive right now is a miracle.

So here's one thing I want to ask of you: Live.

Do it out of love for your fellow Jews, do it out of spite towards our enemies, do it so that there will be more miracles in the future.

Living is the greatest form of Jewish rebellion.

Living a proud Jewish life is even more so, but at the very least, please live.

Please please please don't give up on life right now. If you feel alone, reach out. Reach out to your fellow Jews, find non-Jewish allies to stand by your side, seek out supportive communities.

As a Jew, you are never truly alone. You have people who will love you like family if you just reach out, because we are one. One family, one nation, one soul. And we all care for each other.

Am Yisrael Chai 💕

And if you still think otherwise, maybe it’s time you did actual research about this clearly prevalent history!

Just your friendly (or not so friendly, take it as you will) reminder that Hanukkah is a Zionist holiday!!

We celebrate the reclamation of our indigenous homeland from invaders who wanted to take away our culture and religion.

It's the story of Jewish self-determination despite all odds.

Doesn't get more Zionist than that.

To all the terrorist supporters: You all are only playing yourselves. You clearly have no differentiation between “freedom fighters” and actual monsters. Even at a time when your voices are needed most, you just turn your nose away from the chaos, the hurt, the tragedies against an entire population of people!!

But go on, keep denying. We will keep note of that when it’s over that you’d all rather focus on minor inconveniences rather than people getting slaughtered before your very eyes!!

the thing I have been wrestling with relentlessly is the heartbreak of discovering that my entire worldview and political identity was built on a lie of intersectional solidarity. i know that this solidarity was always aspirational in many ways, and that we all fell short in reality. but to learn that the movement I have spent my entire adult life supporting doesn’t just “fall short” when it comes to jews, but that we are explicitly and insidiously excluded from the circle of progressive moral concern has been devastating. I literally don’t know where to go from here. but I know it has brought me into contact with the unbroken line of my people going back to sinai. we are still here.
