I WALKED UP TO BUY MY TICKETS FOR THE MIKU MOVIE IN ENA COSPLAY AND THE GUY AT THE STAND GOES "let me guess. miku."

pjsk movie spoilers (after cut) because im crashing out I just left the theater

ough….. i heart it

honestly i had only listened to firedance and smile*symphony before watching to avoid spoiling most of the songs for myself, but i almost cried once

the gunjou sanka cover… the journey and NEO references, the DISAPPEARANCE OF HATSUNE MIKU i died

honestly the movie songs hit so so much harder knowing the context and lyric translations behind them because yeah firedance is a fire song but it’s also about combatting burnout and not giving up

also the negativity demon and positivity angel lyrics definitely made me like smile*symphony more im not lying.

the movie was also really really pretty in the animation, there were so many fucking details, from the cd cases in the store (i clocked stardust medley lmao) to what was playing (especially when ichika was showing miku a few songs-pretty sure one of them being ghost night tokyo? correct me if im wrong) aLSO ALSO MY FAVORITE ANIMATION DETAIL was when all the groups were in broken miku’s sekai and their outlines changed to their unit colors (wxs and mmj had their colors muddled for visibility but it’s okay) and the kinda glitchy silhouettes when focusing on one unit because they had touched the fragments from their own sekais and couldn’t see each other (did wish for more cross-unit interaction but it can’t be helped)?!?!!? i genuinely love all the thought and care put into even the tiniest bits of animation

every single character seeing broken miku interaction got me (toya’s bread… tsukasa scream… mafuyu stare…)

the one scene where it’s vbs first meeting broken miku and Ken comes out and they’re just all hiding toya’s phone looking like the end of a 3dmv

went there with a few irls (@/kiwimeep i know you’re there) and we definitely didn’t look at eachother when our favs were onscreen because i honestly always was smiling whenever there was a wondershow scene (send the pitchforks) and almost laughed multiple times at tsukasa dialogue (he yelled at LEAST 3 times during the movie and got fucking decimated by robonene in that one scene where the units were sent back to the real world through the window’s in broken miku’s sekai)

also pretty sure this takes place before 3rd anni because it’s mostly old designs (but like mainly mmj and n25 because the other units had like unique outfits for most of the film?) also tsukasa jetpack wing things in the beginning and the miku on robonene spin where she ends up swaying after finishing it…

finally after miku had like gotten her message out and the sekai was restored and everyone went to see her i kinda thought she was dying because she was saying like “i suppose this is our goodbye” and it kept cutting to the skylight so i might’ve been misreading some shit…

tldr i FUCKING love the pjsk movie because you can clearly see all the effort and love put into it

If ppl start posting too many spoilers I'll have to watch it pirated in some way. I don't want to, I really want to watch it on the movie theaters but I don't think all "global" pjsk fans will be so polite like the japanese ones. Not generalizing !!! I know most people are actually polite and don't spoil others over nothing. There just seems to have more fans in global that'll leak events, post them while they aren't over yet, etc, for whatever reason. Or I just feel like that because I can't read any japanese so it just seems to me like they leak less stuff lol (either way don't take it personally, if you don't leak anything or tag spoilers you're fine)

Either way, please tag movie content as spoiler until it has aired in the last programmed country, which is may 29th! (date subject to change)
